Allgood Elementary School
This school is located at 659 Allgood Road in Stone Mountain, Georgia in Dekalb County Schools. Allgood opened its doors for the first time in 1955 with a student population of 325. However, the current enrollment is approximately 550. Dr. William J. Carter currently serves as the school principal.
Booker T. Washington High School
This school is located at 45 Whitehouse Drive in Atlanta, Georgia in the Atlanta Public Schools District. Washington High School was the first public high school for African-Americans in Georgia and holds an important place in the Atlanta community. In 1986, the school was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Booker T. Washington is now under the leadership of principal Dr. Tasharah Wilson.
Clarkston High School
This school is located at 618 North Indian Creek Drive in Clarkston, Georgia in Dekalb County Schools. Since moving to its current location in 1964, Clarkston High School has provided a unique learning experience to a diverse group of students from 54 countries and speak 47 languages. Students attending Clarkston are from six of the seven continents. Clarkston is the most diverse school in Dekalb County. Dr. Michelle Jones is the principal.
Columbia Elementary School
This school is located at 3230 Columbia Woods Drive in Decatur Georgia and is in the DeKalb County School District. The school is under the leadership of principal Mr. Raymond Stanley and serves 732 students. Columbia Elementary operates under the motto of “Soaring Above Expectations.”
Continental Colony Elementary School
This school is in the Atlanta Public Schools District. Located at 3181 Hogan Rd., SW in Atlanta, Georgia, Continental Colony Elementary School serves approximately 400 students with Dr. Kristen Vaughn as principal. The school, home of the “Prowling Panthers,” was built in 1962 under the leadership of superintendent Dr. John W. Letson. The current superintendent is Dr. Meria Joel Carstarphen. Continental Colony Elementary School prides itself on being “a school of excellence that prepares students for equitable access to college and career options to ensure they are equipped to successfully function in a technologically, advancing global society.”
Freedom Middle School
This school is located at 505 South Hairston Road in Stone Mountain, Georgia in Dekalb County Schools. The school currently serves approximately 1100 students under the leadership of principal Dr. Marchell Boston. Freedom Middle School opened on January 8, 2001, in a beautiful new facility. The school is located on 63 acres near the intersection of Hairston and Rockbridge Roads with lots of room for athletics and other student pursuits.
Langston Hughes High School
This school is located at 7510 Hall Road, Fairburn, Georgia in Fulton County Schools. Langston Hughes High opened its doors in August 2009 and is the newest and largest high school in South Fulton County. Mrs. Brandy Reeves serves as principal. Langston Hughes is a part of the Small Learning Community.
Salem Middle School
This school is located at 5333 Salem Road in Lithonia, Georgia in DeKalb County Schools. Principal Mr. Terrence Harvey serves as leadership for 1,421 students. In 2012, Salem was selected as an International Baccalaureate World School. The school also features unique assets such as Impact and High Achiever Classes as well as an award winning music department.
Sylvan Hills Middle School
Located at 1090 Windsor Street Southwest in Atlanta, Georgia in the Atlanta Public Schools District, Sylvan Hills Middle School serves 583 students in 6th to 8th grade. Sylvan Hills first opened in 1949 as a high school and became Sylvan Hills Middle in 1987. Under the leadership of principal Mr. Artesza Portee, Sylvan Hills will open the doors of a new multi-million dollar campus in August 2015. The motto of Sylvan Hills Middle is “Be Sylvan Ready” — be respectful, punctual and prepared, presentable and actively engaged.
Towers High School
This school is located at 3919 Brookcrest Circle in Decatur, Georgia in DeKalb County School. Mr. Vincent Denson serves as principal for 1,220 students. Tower High has been in existence in the community since 1966. In 2011, the school was a recipient of a School Improvement Grant.
